Throne Discriptions 

Here you will find a discription for each of the 12 thones that belong to the Olympians along with an image of that avatar in their role as the God or Goddess

Zeus

Zeus' throne was made out of yellow Egyptian marble that has small freagments of gold built into it for decoration. The throne was so large it has seven steps leading up to it, each one coloured with one of the colours of the rainbow. With a large blue covering over the throne to repesent the sky, sitting on the right arm is a ruby eyed eagle that held jagged strips of tin in his beak, this represented the fact Zeus can kill his enemies by throwing lightning at them. Because the chair was made of marble it was naturally cold. So Zeus has a purple ram's fleece to sit on. This fleece could be shook to make the world rain.

Poseidon

Poseidon has the second largest throne, only succeeded by his brother. It was made of gray-green, white-streaked marble. It was decorated with coral, gold and pearls. The arms took the shapes of sea beasts and Poseidon sat on silky, sleek seal skin.

 

 

Ares

Ares throne was made of brass, which was very strong but ugly. There were brass knobs that were made into the shape of human skulls and the cushion he sat on was also made from human skin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Apollo

Apollo's throne was made of extremely polished gold. It was covered in magical inscriptions. The back was shaped like lyre. He sat upon a python skin. Sat atop his throne was a sun-disk with twenty one rays shaped like arrows.

 

 

 

Hephaestus

Hephaestus' throne was made of all the precious metals of and stone there was to be found in the world. The seat could swivel and the arms were adjustable. The whole throne would move at his will.

 

 

 

Hermes

 Hermes throne was made of gray rock, it has a rams head on each arm and he sits on a cushion of goatskin.

Hera

Hera's throne was made from ivory. There were only three steps to her throne but were all made from rainbow crystal. On the back were several golden cuckoos and willow leaves. Above the throne hung a moon. She sat on cowskin, which, like her husband's could be used for rain making when he was otherwise engaged. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Demeter

Directly across from her brother's throne, Demeter's throne was made of bright green malachite and had golden barley and miniture golden igs (for luck) all for decoration. Her symbol being the poppy, was blood red and glowed agaunst the barley.

 

 

 

Athena

Atherna's throne was made of silver. Along the back and the sides were golden baskets. There was also a violet crown made from blue lapis lazuli set atop the throne. The arms ended in the heads of a smiling Gorgon and the throne had a perch for an owl.

 

 

 

Artemis

Artemis' throne was made of highly polished silver and she had a grey wolfskin to sit on. The back was shaped like the moon and there was a date palm on either side. 

 

 

 

Aphrodite

Aphrodite's throne was also made of silver, but had beryls and aquamarines built into it. Also the back was made into the shape of a scallop shell. The seat was made from swan down and at her feet, a mat which had bees, sparrows and apples woven into it.

 

 

Hestia

Hestia's throne was very plain and made of wood, there was also a cushion made from undyed wool.
